CONGRATULATIONS! to athletes with recent successes
Luis Escobar, Santa Maria,  CA
Congratulations to Luis Escobar who finished Badwater
2006 in 9th place, with a time of 36:45:10   Luis did a lot of
research to find the fuel and electrolyte products that
would work best for him.  His work paid off with a great run.

"
AMINO saved my race! It's 135, long, hot miles from
Badwater to Mt. Whitney. SUCCEED! was with me every
step of the way. I would highly recommend all of the
SUCCEED! products to any serious endurance athlete."

Andy and Kim Holak, Duluth MN
Congratulations to Kim and Andy Holak of Duluth
Minnesota who have had a great year as a running
couple.  Back in May they both won at the Ice Age Trail 50
Mile Run in Wisconsin.

“I didn't want to push myself too hard since I was preparing
to run Western States a little over a month later, but my
legs felt great at the end and I could push the pace without
feeling I had to push too hard.  Kim recovered really well
from a bad patch at the horse camp (mile 37.1) aid station
and ran strong to the finish.  Kim and I used Succeed! caps
every hour since it was relatively cool, and drank the
Succeed! Ultra at all the aid stations.”           Andy

Then in June, they both finished the soon to be legendary
2006 Western States Endurance Run.

“At Western States this year conditions were brutal.  The
heat started early, the canyons were well over 100 degrees
and it didn't cool off that much at night.  The effectiveness
of Succeed! Caps was really evident in the performances
that Kim and I had at Western.  Kim started taking
Succeed! Caps every half hour early in the race while I
waited until it was probably too late to begin increasing my
intake of Succeed! Caps when the temperatures really
started to heat up.
Kim maintained her electrolytes well, stayed positive, hydrated and full of energy.  I on the other hand, was 5 pounds
overweight at the first 3 medical checkpoints due to what I believe to be over-hydration and not enough electrolytes.  I
believe that had I taken Succeed! Caps every half hour when it started to get hot I would have been able to maintain my
electrolytes and had a more successful race.
Kim went on to finish in just over 23 hours and 7th place woman
(35th overall) in her 1st Western States 100 and only second 100 mile race ever, while I finished after some
struggles in 25:56.
Nevertheless, Succeed! Caps helped me through the tough day as did the Succeed! Clip2 that I
used to help maintain my energy levels.”         Andy

Kim and Andy have had success with S! Caps for many years.

“I've been using Succeed! caps for nearly 10 years and Kim for 6 years.  I first found out about Succeed! Caps after my
first 50 miler in 1996 when my calves cramped badly at the end of the race.
Since I began using Succeed! Caps, I
haven't had another cramp
.  They are an integral part of every ultramarathon that we run, not only helping our
performance, but I also believe keeping us safe and healthy by helping us properly maintain out electrolytes.

Of all the products we use for ultrarunning, I truly believe that Succeed! Caps are the most indispensable
product that we use.

Herman Richards, Stockton NJ
"The way the five loop Rocky Raccoon course is set
up, we hit an aid station every 3-4 miles with every
other one being a drop bag.  At each drop location I'd
put one pack of
CLIP2 in my bottle and one in my
pocket for the next aid station.  I added a full pack to my
bottle at each aid station even if the bottle wasn't
completely empty.  Used 29 packs for the 100 miles.
Beside a couple of hits of gel and an
S! cap every hour,
that was all I took in all day.  I had planned on trying
some other things to fight off the empty stomach
feeling, but that was never a problem, so I went without
them.  The calories from the
CLIP2 must have been
enough to satisfy me.  Felt better then I had a right to.
Came back to New Jersey with a buckle and an age
group win.  Life is good!"

Herman ran the 100 miles of the very hot 2006 Western States Endurance Run in 25:52  He used
CLIP2, and Ultra for most of his calories, and S! Caps for his electrolyte.  It was a very tough day for him,
just like it was for everyone on the course, but he was able to report:
"My stomach didn't give me any
trouble all day"
SUCCEED! SPORTSDRINK
Hal Koerner    Ashland, OR
Hal won the 2006 Angeles Crest 100 Mile Run in a time of
18:37, the second fastest time ever run on the course.

"I used S! caps throughout the race.  I used one an hour, very
diligently.  I do believe they help me with water absorption,
no sloshing stomach, and made it easier for me to keep
eating all day - probably the foremost reason for my time. "

  Wynn Davis   River Falls, WI
Wynn set the Ed Fitz 50K Course Record at 3:46:04 in October 2006.
S! Caps were his electrolyte supplement of choice.

"Succeed caps were the ticket on the north shore for the 25th
anniversary or the Edmund Fitzgerald Ultra.  I took 1 S! cap per hour
combined with fluid, which allowed me to push through many aid
stations and experience little fatigue at the finish.  Despite a late bus start
and getting lost due to strong head winds which blew down signs, I set a
course record."
